Amir Ali and LOOMLAB have collaborated to form a capsule collection of scarves inspired by Amir's illustrations, created during his thirty-one month stay in a non-criminal immigration detention facility.
In confinement, the right to do things in one’s own way is becomes very limited...It is a good idea to find ways to keep the mind busy. You are told what to do, when to do it, and even the way it must be done. You are told when to eat, when to sleep, and when to wake up. For me, spending my time drawing came as a sanity saver.
